HOUSTON-On Tuesday night, the results of the November 2 election in Harris County were postponed by a few hours.

Soon after the voting ended at 7 pm, the county posted a message on social media announcing the delay, citing the power of the central count.

It wasn't until around 10pm that Harris County votes began to come in.

The county explained on their Facebook page that the delay occurred when an exit tripped at the central count. They said that since the machine is very sensitive to interference, they conducted a complete logic and accuracy test, which they said would take about two hours.

"Although we want to get results quickly, we prioritize processing everything accurately, even if it takes some extra time," they wrote.

Since the judges put down their equipment, Central Count has a lot of actions, so we apologize for the noise. After an outlet in Central Count tripped and caused a power outage, the election results were postponed. The machine is sensitive to any interference, so in order to ensure the integrity of the computer, we have conducted a comprehensive logic and accuracy test, which takes about two hours.
